Paulo Post-Future
At the invitation of the Cultural Relations Committee, I selected the artists for the biennial in São Paulo, and together we undertook projects in the biennial pavilion and the city, working with national coordinator Jenny Haughton, Artworking (Dublin), Alvaro Petrillo (Brazil), and other local coordinators. As a rule only one national artist was allowed to represent each country, but after some negotiation I got permission to include all the artists with the agreement of Alfons Hug, Director of the 26th São Paulo Bienal. Supported by the Department of Art, Sport & Tourism and the Arts Council/An Chomhairle Ealaion.
The official catalogue of the 26th Bienal de São Paulo, 2004, is available on ISSUU. This was the last year that the Fundação Bienal de São Paulo invited national participations.
